Dropbox has limitations that will cause problems with user accounts if you try and install and use it from a Bren computer. We suggest that those wanting to use Dropbox install and run a portable version from a thumbdrive. First make sure that your Dropbox storage will fit on your thumbdrive, then follow the directions below to install the proper software.
Step 1: Download the DropboxPortableAHK program from http://nionsoftware.com/dbpahk/ Look closely for the proper link, don't click on the "Download Manager" links.
Step 2: Select "Save File"
Step 3: Select your USB thumbdrive's drive letter as the save file destination and click "Save"
Step 4: Double-click the DropboxPortable archive you just downloaded, 7zip should open the file archive
Step 5: Drag or extract the folder contained inside the archive to the root of your USB thumbdrive
Step 6: Open the DropboxPortableAHK folder and double-click on the DropboxPortableAHK executable file to launch the installation wizard
Step 7: You will be prompted with a warning, you can ignore it and click "Yes"

Step 8: You will be prompted with a warning, you can ignore it and click "OK"
Step 9: Click "Next"
Step 10: Click "Next"

Step 11: Leave the paths to the default values, Click "Next"
Step 12: Click "Next"
Step 13: Click "Next"
Step 14: Click "Next"
Step 15: Click "Next"
Step 16: Click "Download Dropbox Files" and wait for the download to complete
Step 17: Click "Next"
Step 18: Click "Start Dropbox setup"
Step 19: Select "I already have a Dropbox account" and click "Next"
Step 20: Enter the email address and password associated with your Dropbox account
Step 21: Click "Next"
Step 22: Click "Install"
Step 23: Click "Skip Tour"
Step 24: Click "Finish"
Step 25: Click "Finish"
Step 26: Every time the DropboxPortableAHK executable is run you will recieve this error message, you can ignore it and click "Yes"
Step 27: Every time the DropboxPortableAHK executable is run you will recieve this error message, you can ignore it and click "OK"
Step 28 - Using Dropbox from your USB Thumbdrive: To use dropbox simply log into a computer, open your USB thumbdrive and then open the DropboxPortableAHK folder. Next double-click on the DropboxPortableAHK.exe executable and click to ignore the two warning screens that will come up. Dropbox will now be running and your files will be syncing. The files will be availabe in the DropboxPortableAHK\Dropbox folder on your thumbdrive, you can also right click on the Dropbox icon in the system tray and click "Open Dropbox Folder" to open the storage folder.
